RCB vs SRH LIVE COMMENTARY
RCB in 16 overs: Another one bites the dust! Hasaranga loses his off stump as Natarajan picks another. Timeout!
RCB 65/8 in 15 overs: Bangalore finally gets a boundary as Hasaranga creams a punch through cover.
RCB 58/8 in 14 overs: Umran is mixing it up well. Only a single off it.
RCB 57/8 in 13 overs: Natarajan gets rid of Harshal. The off-stump goes cartwheeling as Natarajan gets one to land on the seam. Two runs off the over.
RCB 55/7 in 12 overs: Wide of off… Out! Caught behind. But Hasaranga has gone for the review. There was a definite sound but turns out it came off the pads.
RCB 53/7 in 11 overs: Harshal glances one down fine-leg for a couple. The second ball is a wide. Just a single comes off the remaining five balls.
RCB 49/7 in 10 overs: OUT! The Sunrisers are tearing into the Bangalore lineup. Shahbaz has edged one down the legside and Pooran does an excellent job behind the stumps again. Excellent seam presentation from Umran. Hasaranga, forced to play at a bouncer which holds its line, almost nicks another.
RCB 47/6 in 9 overs: Prabhudessai shimmies down, looking to go for the big shot. However, the ball strikes the toe-end of the bat. Jansen does an excellent job near the rope to pull it in. Prabhudessai departs, stumped! Can you believe it? Even Pooran didn’t when he went up in appeal. Williamson has been left pleasantly surprised by the replays on the giant screen. Time for the strategic timeout. DK has walked in. Suchith goes up in appeal. The umpire signals a wide but the bowler is convinced there is a feather on it. Pooran, confused at first, appeals anyway. Guess what! The ball did kiss the glove en route to Pooran. DK goes for a duck. Yes, you’ve read that right.
RCB 45/4 in 8 overs: Umran starts off with a 146kph bouncer. Follows it up with an outswinger. Prabhudessai, on strike, is feeling the heat. The second bouncer of the over earns RCB a no ball and free hit. Shahbaz has lofted the free hit over cover. Four runs.
RCB 37/4 in 7 overs: Suchith starts with a wide. After two dots, Prabhudessai takes a quick single after miscuing a cut. The duo sneak a single after running two, courtesy of a error from Williamson, who was covering up.
RCB 31/4 in 6 overs: Jansen continues to attack the stumps and the batters negotiate the length off the backfoot. A hint of room and Prabhudessai lofts over cover for four.
RCB 25/4 in 5 overs: Natarajan to Maxwell. GONE! Natarajan sends in a slower delivery and Maxwell chips it straight to Williamson at mid-off. A fine grab from the skipper and RCB are in tatters within the PowerPlay. Shahbaz Ahmed in at 6. Natarajan pins Shahbaz to the crease before sending a wide delivery down leg for four. On the money once again as five runs and a wicket come from the over.
RCB 20/3 in 4 overs: Jansen cuts Maxwell in half with a sharp delivery that tails in from length. Maxwell heaves but misses as the whiffs past the top of middle-stump. Jansen switches sides. Room and Maxwell slams it through cover for four.
RCB 11/3 in 3 overs: Bhuvneshwar bowls a tight over, sticking to good lengths. Three runs off the over.
Marco Jansen celebrates Faf du Plessis’ wicket. – IPL
RCB 8/3 in 2 overs: Jansen to share the new ball. The 21-year-old has cleaned up his compatriot du Plessis! A second slip in place for Kohli and the ploy works perfectly. The ball moves away just a bit and the former India captain is gone for a golden duck yet again. Two wickets in two balls. Maxwell comes to the crease. Jansen loses his sense of line a bit, bowling two consecutive wides. And it is the second slip again which spells doom! Rawat edges now.
RCB 5/0 in 1 over: Bhuvneshwar starts off with a length ball that shapes away from the right-handed du Plessis. The skipper gets off the mark with a boundary through cover. There was ample swing on offer but the South African waits and judges the length well. Suchith with an excellent stop at point, has a shy at the sticks as well but du Plessis is home safe and sound.
du Plessis and Rawat make their way to the middle. Bhuvneshwar to open the bowling.
WHAT THE CAPTAINS SAID
Kane Williamson: We are gonna bowl. It is quite humid, perhaps some dew coming in, we’ll have to see. The wickets will remain similar throughout. Same team. Washington is recovering well, another few days should help him out. Today would have been a bit tight.
Faf du Plessis: It’s our first game here. The pitch has looked nice, consistent. We have to assess and play accordingly. Same team.

RCB vs SRH PITCH REPORT
“It is a very high-scoring ground. The surface looks magnificent. Five times the team batting second has won, four times the team batting first has won. It’s got a nice covering of grass on it. There is good pace, good bounce. I think we need to see bowlers bowling a little bit shorter and getting the batsmen to hit square of the wicket. It is a really good surface. If you do have to bat first, put 180-plus on the board and you are in the game,” reckons Simon Doull.

Dhoni, the IPL finisher and master of last-over heists
For RCB, Karthik’s inspirational form has been unreal. Surfacing in the lower middle order, he has 210 runs at a strike-rate of 205.88 having been dismissed just once in seven innings.
Faf du Plessis, an able skipper, has pulled his weight at the top of the order. Their contributions have enabled RCB make light of Virat Kohli’s ordinary form. Glenn Maxwell remains the X factor.
The RCB attack is a distinct threat with the swing and cut of Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood, the changes in pace of Harshal Patel and the variety of leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.
The clash promises to be intriguing.
