In a first, Samsung has announced that its Galaxy Unpacked event 2022 will also be hosted in metaverse. The event is scheduled for February 9 at 10 am EST (8-30pm IST) where the company is expected to unveil its Galaxy S22 series phones along with Galaxy Tab S8 series. Along with YouTube and its official website, Samsung fans can watch the event live on Samsung’s virtual reality platform- Samsung 837X.
What is Samsung 837X
Samsung 837X is a virtual recreation of its New York City store location. It will feature quests, NFT prizes, product reveal events and live performances. Samsung 837X will be hosted in Decentraland that users can enter using their desktops.
How to watch Samsung event in metaverse
To visit 837X, you will first need to connect with Decentraland. Once you’re online, your avatar will be dropped right outside of the virtual 837X building. From there, you can enter the doors and immerse yourself in 837X.
Users can join in via two methods. They can either log in as registered users or as a guest. Joining as guests will be a limited experience as guests will not be able to collect NFTs or wearables.
What to expect from Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event
As mentioned before, Samsung is expected to reveal its Galaxy S22 series at the event. The series may consist of Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22 Plus, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra. The smartphones may come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
Alongside the new phones, the South Korean company may also bring Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series. It may launch two new tablets under the series — Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8 Ultra.
