26-june-2015,Delhi/Banagaluru. To Promote the message of becoming responsible citizens through conservation of national resources and civic and moral values, Club Enerji programme of Tata Power has sensitise 218,887 and 29,769 citizens in Delhi and Bengaluru respectively.
Tata Power’s Club Enerji initiative has significantly contributed in ensuring energy conservation at the school level and has been a huge success in building a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives at the macro level. At the national level, the initiative has helped in saving 14.2 MUs of electricity equivalent to saving 14,200 tonne of CO2 which is enough to light up over 6,943 houses for a year. The initiative has further sensitized approximately 9.3 million citizens cross 11 locations in Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Bengaluru, Lonavala, Maithon, Belgaum, Jamshedpur and Ranchi. The movement also helps in spreading awareness among the society by undertaking numerous initiatives through rallies, street plays, cyclothons, exhibitions and batti bandhs to sensitise the larger population.
Tata Power has always been a frontrunner and committed towards creating a sustainable society by spreading awareness on conservation. Following on the commitment, Tata Power through its Club Enerji campaign, throughout the year, has successfully raised awareness amongst the citizens of Delhi. The annual campaign helped sensitise over 2lakh citizens with the support of 25 schools in the city, creating 3,627 Energy Champions and 2,511 Energy Ambassadors, who have led the way to educate citizens about the importance of conservation of energy, natural resources and civic and moral values, leading to a greener and better world.
