CG Net will soon launch its long-awaited IPTV in Nepal. The Chaudhary Group subsidiary has collaborated with Indian carrier Airtel to add their digital TV solution alongside its trend-setting fiber broadband plan.
The partnership will bring Bharti Telecom (Airtel)’s emerging IPTV/OTT services to Nepali households with CG Net subscriptions.
For CG Net, it will be a major boost to their ambitious fiber broadband venture. The ISP war is heating up, its IPTV solution will complete its broadband package and further its appeal.
Airtel’s IQ Video is an all-inclusive, pre-integrated platform that brings an innovative solution to watch video content on the go. Still, in its beta phase, it is an end-to-end managed digital TV platform that also comes at a cost-friendly price. It’s a feature-rich platform that includes features from app development and content hosting to monetization.

CG Net’s IPTV a More Complete Entertainment Solution
Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of CG Group says, “We have aspirations to launch a cutting edge IPTV and Video OTT platform as part of our telco offering in Nepal. Airtel’s proven execution in video-based offerings with Airtel Xstream and keen understanding of a telecom company paved the way for our partnership. Airtel IQ Video will power both our Video OTT app and IPTV, bringing seamless streaming to our customers in Nepal on devices of their choice.”

The company says Airtel IQ Video allows its subscribers to watch videos on smartphones, tablets, or TVs over the internet. It is a cloud-based technology and offers high-quality streaming on any screen.
On its site, Airtel writes that it has generated a huge interest from the market. To further drive its expansion, the company is “is expecting to onboard 50+ brands on the platform in the coming year.”
CG Net entered the ISP market in Nepal with a benchmark 120 Mbps fiber internet plan for Rs.999. This has triggered an internet speed war in the country. For its own, the ISP has also introduced its cost-effective 50 Mbps for plan Rs.649 targeting moderate internet users. Now, the ISP has almost reached blanket coverage in the Kathmandu valley with eyes on major cities soon. And adding the IPTV solution has just arrived at a befitting time.
