The very first film of Bollywood based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination released its first teaser trailer today in New Delhi. The film is named ‘31stOctober’ and stars actors Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in lead. The film is directed by National Award Winner Shivaji Lotan Patil and is produced by Mr. Harry Sachdeva under his home production Magical Dreams Productions Pvt. Ltd.
‘31st October’ is based on a real life story of a family who battles for their survival with many other Sikhs on the day which has been marked in history as a black day , the day Indira Gandhi was assassinated.
‘ The teaser was premiered today considering the significance of the date 31 October.‘ This year we complete 30 years of denial of justice. However, The film is a complete thriller and will take the audience through an experience of emotions, drama and a nerve racking journey ‘, said Shivaji Lotan Patil, the Director of ‘31st October’
‘The subject is close to many hearts in India and across the globe, especially the sikh NRI’s who had to leave their motherland because of what they faced on that black day. The sole intention of making the film is to tell the world that such massacres do no good to an individual, community or country. To talk about the film, all that can be said is that when people will watch it, they will surely take back home a story to remember’, said Mr. Harry Sachdeva , producer & writer of 31st October
The character Soha Ali Khan is playing is a real life character in film and it it is surely one character which will never fade from her memory ‘ , said Soha Ali Khan.
The film is expected to release early next year . The teaser was launched at ‘TRIBUTE TO 84’, a homage ceremony organized by Mr. Harry Sachdeva in remembrance of the many lives lost in 1984. The launch witnessed many who’s who of the society like Vikramjit Singh Sahney (Corporate President, Sun Group and International President of World Punjabi Organization , Senior Advocate and Social Activist H S Phoolka , Swami Agnivesh (Social Activist) , Tarlochan Singh (Former MP and Chairman ,National Commission for minority), Jaya Jaitley (Former President , Samata Party) and a musical performance by Singer Harshdeep Kaur, all gathered together to pay homage to the martyrs and support the survivors and their families and to communicate delay of justice shouldn’t discourage them and the film is a small step towards communicating that what happened , it shouldn’t have ,not only in India but in any part of the world.
