YouTube has announced that the YouTube Search Insights tool will be available to all creators and brands by the end of this month. This tool was previewed as an experimental feature when it was introduced in November 2021. YouTube Search Insights will help creators research what YouTube users and the viewers on their channel are searching for. This will help them in finding content gaps and creating more relevant videos. Here we will discuss how YouTube Search Insights works and how is it important for creators.
What is the YouTube Search Insights tool?
The YouTube Search Insights tool shows creators and brands data based on searches across all of YouTube. It even shows them the searches made by the viewers of their respective channel(s). This tool is also equipped with a content gap filter that highlights the YouTube searches that were unable to find a video. These searches are categorised by the search volumes — high, medium and low.
What data do search insights provide?
A report suggests that YouTube’s new tool provides aggregated data on English language search terms from the past 28 days from the US, UK, Canada, Australia and India. Google is planning to roll out this tool for more regions and languages very soon.
How is it important?
This tool is aimed at helping brands and creators by informing them about what YouTube users are searching for, how they can improve their content planning and ensuring the videos that they are creating are relevant to their audience.
How to find the YouTube Search Insights tool?
To find the YouTube Search Insights tool users have to visit YouTube Studio. Click on Analytics and the search insights will be available under the Research tab. If you can’t find it right now, don’t worry, as this tool is expected to launch for all channels by the end of April. Right now it can be accessed on desktop only.
