Xiaomi is set to host another flagship event today (April 27) at 12 pm. The Xiaomi Next 2022 event will be live-streamed across the company’s official YouTube channel and other social media channels. The Chinese smartphone maker is expected to launch the Xiaomi 12 Pro flagship smartphone, the brand’s first tablet in India — the Xiaomi Pad 5 along with Xiaomi TV A at the event. Xiaomi 12 Pro will be the company’s first flagship smartphone to arrive in India in 2022 and is also going to be the showstopper at the event. Xiaomi 12 Pro: Expected price and availability
The Xiaomi 12 Pro was launched globally and for the domestic market some time ago. The Indian variant is also likely to carry the same specifications as well. The smartphone might come out in two RAM variants 8GB and 12GB while the storage will be fixed at 256GB. The 8GB RAM+ 256GB base model of the global version starts at $999 (roughly around Rs 76,500). However, the company might use a different pricing strategy in India. Xiaomi 12 Pro is likely to start around Rs 60,000 or probably Rs 58,999 for the base model, to compete with the other premium devices available on the market like — the iQOO 9 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro and more
Xiaomi 12 Pro: Expected specifications
As mentioned earlier, the Indian variant of the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone is likely to get the same specifications as the global variant. However, the company hasn’t confirmed the spec sheet for the Indian variant of the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone.
The upcoming smartphone is expected to sport a 6.73-inch WQHD+ E5 AMOLED display that supports LTPO 2.0 technology, a 120Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of 522. The display also offers 1500 nits of peak brightness and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
The smartphone is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage which users won’t be able to expand.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro handset will feature a triple rear camera setup that will include — a 50MP primary camera, 50MP ultrawide lens, and 50MP telephoto sensor. The device will also boast a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The upcoming smartphone is supposed to pack a 4,600mAh battery that might support 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The handset will also feature stereo speakers, NFC and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
