WhatsApp keeps bringing new features for its users from time to time. As per a tweet by WaBetaInfo, the instant messaging platform is reportedly working on a new chat feature for group admins. WhatsApp is planning to bring the ability for group admins to delete messages sent by other group members in a future update.
“If you are a group admin, you will be able to delete any message for everyone in your groups, in a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android. A good moderation, finally” reads the post shared on Twitter.
WhatsApp group admins will be able delete anyone’s message without asking them. This will give users more control over group chats and will enable them to remove inappropriate messages.
When an admin deletes a particular message in the group chat, Android users will see a note saying “This was deleted by an admin”. As mentioned in the tweet, the feature will be available for users in a future update. It will be available on WhatsApp beta for Android.
In another related update, WhatsApp is also working on a redesigned media picker that aims to improve the way to send multiple media after taking a photo. With the new design, WhatsApp will show two new tabs that make it easier to quickly find the media you want to share to your contacts or status updates. These will include Recents and Gallery. WaBetaInfo in its report states that the redesigned media picker will not be available when a user wants to normally share media from a chat. It will be available only when one takes a photo from the in-app camera.
