WhatsApp has reportedly started to roll out a beta update for the new Windows app. The update brings the version of the app up to 2.2203.3.0. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the Facebook-owned platform is improving some elements of the user interface by bringing animations with the beta update. As per the report, WhatsApp is adding a minor animation to the settings icon at the the top for beta users. The animation comes after a few elements of the app started following rules from the Windows UI Library 2.7 after the UWP 2.2201.2 update.
As per the video shared by WABetaInfo, beta users will be able to see the new animation when they tap on the WhatsApp Settings icon after installing the update. It is worth noting that users will see another animation when they navigate between WhatsApp Settings. Although it may look like a minor update, this is the second beta update with a new user interface for the platform. This hints that the company may ikely bring more UI changes in the coming updates.
WhatsApp released a new app for Windows operating system a few months ago. The app is largely based on the web version of the platform and is available to download from Microsoft Store. It is based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP) which means that the app is able to sync in the background and receive notifications even when it is not running.
Recently, the company also started to roll out a new feature that allows users to pause and resume voice recordings. The feature is only available to WhatsApp web users who are enrolled in the beta program. Previously, the WhatsApp web beta users had the feature to listen to voice notes before sending them. The new update is said to be an addition to that feature.
