Shops, factories, and industries are the main observers of the festival. On this day, factory and industrial workers pray to Lord Vishwakarma for the safety of their livelihoods and worship their tools. On the day of Vishwakarma Puja, they pray for the flawless operation of equipment and refrain from using their tools.
Pictures and special statues of Lord Vishwakarma are put at factories and workplaces on this occasion.
The day is primarily observed in states such as West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, Tripura, Bihar, and Jharkhand in the eastern region of the country. Nepal, India’s neighbour, also observes Vishwakarma Puja. There will be no grand celebrations this year due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
