Showering flower petals and folding hands, scores of people in Varanasi welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his roadshow today on Friday. The mega roadshow was led by the PM in his constituency Varanasi, which goes to polls in the seventh phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections on March 7.
The roadshow had started from Maldahiya roundabout and ended at the chowk. Recreating history, PM started his roadshow from the same spot where he had held his first roadshow after filing his nomination in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, reported Hindustan Times.
Before the roadshow, PM Modi garlanded the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his arrival in his Lok Sabha constituency.

As per the reports, after the roadshow PM will go to the Kashi Vishwanath temple and offer prayers. Following this the PM will also address a rally at the Khajuria village, as part of the the campaign of the last leg of UP elections. Later, PM will spend the night at the Diesel Locomotive Work (DLW) guest house in the city, added the report.
The Varanasi Lok Sabha seat comprises five assembly constituencies, which are of Rohaniya, Varanasi North, Varanasi South, Varanasi Cantt and Sevapuri. The vote counting will take place on March 10 for this elections.
