- Former Aussie legend Matthew Hayden believes that CSK can win IPL 2022
- Hayden said that CSK will come back stronger in the next game and can retain the title
- After suffering defeat against KKR, CSK will face Lucknow Super Giants today
Despite a change in leadership in Chennai Super Kings (CSK), former Australian cricketer and commentator Matthew Hayden believes that CSK are capable of winning the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and can retain their title. Hayden has reposed his faith in CSK and said that CSK have it in them to pull off and that makes them a dangerous side.
Four-time IPL champion CSK suffered defeat in its first game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as both their bowling and batting had failed to create an impact in a way they would have liked. The team succumbed to a six-wicket defeat against KKR in the season opener.
CSK CAPABLE OF WINNING IPL
“CSK will not be disheartened with the loss in their opening game against KKR. There were plenty of positives for the Ravindra Jadeja-led side. Their top-order saw a rare batting collapse in the first game but there’s a lot of experience in the side and I am sure they’ll come back stronger in the next game,” batting legend Hayden said during an episode of Cricket Live on Star Sports.
“They missed Moeen Ali in the tournament opener and he will be available for selection in the next match. CSK have it in them to it pull off and that makes them a dangerous side,” he added.
CSK will be facing KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai today at 7.30 pm. Ravindra-Jadeja led CSK will be hoping to bag their first win by getting their combinations and strategies in order for this clash.
In their first match, CSK were restricted to 131 against KKR and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the former captain of the team, hit a brilliant half-century. However, other players have to step up their game against LSG.
