IPL 2021: DC v CSK, Qualifier 1: Live Updates: Play underway after Chennai elect to bowl : Rashtra News
The first Qualifer will be played between the top two placed teams on the points table. On Sunday, Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals will take on MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings for a place in the final.
The Capitals, gunning for their maiden IPL title, enjoyed another strong season, as they finished on top of the table with 20 points from 14 games. On the other hand, the Super Kings, the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season, finished second on the points table with 18 points from 14 matches.
Though the teams have largely enjoyed a good run this season, both teams head into the first knockout game of the season on the back of losses. While the Capitals fell to a narrow loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore on their final league game, former champions Chennai Super Kings lost three on the trot ahead of the playoffs.
The victorious team on Sunday will seal a spot in the final of IPL 2021. On the other hand, the losing team will get another shot at making it to the finals, as they will take on the winner of the second knockout match (Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders) for a place in the final.
