Marsh’s hundred helped the Scorchers post 182/5 while batting first. Chasing the 183-run target, the Hurricanes lost wickets at regular intervals. D’Arcy Short and Ben McDermott did get promising starts and scored 31 and 41 respectively, but their efforts could only narrow down the margin of the Hurricanes’ defeat.
They were bundled out for 129 in 19 overs as the Perth Scorchers sealed a comprehensive 53-run win. Left-arm speedster Mills was the pick of the bowlers for the Scorchers as he took three wickets in the game. Marsh was adjudged the Player of the Match for his special effort with the bat.
