Samsung Unpacked 2022 event has concluded with new devices and a takeaway. The South Korean company unveiled its flagship S22 series and Tab S8 Series with specs that somehow confirmed most rumors. Meanwhile, we learned that Samsung has shelved its Note series phablets. Find out what more came out of the company’s flagship event of 2022.
Samsung started the event by launching a new lineup of Galaxy S22 smartphones – the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus. Then, it launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra which comes with an extra stylus. This basically gives us an impression that it’s the successor-in-disguise to the now scraped Note series.
Samsung claims the S22 Ultra comes with better S-Pen capacity. It also has includes minor improvements in camera and design. But the regular handsets Galaxy S22, and the Galaxy S22 Plus resemble very much last year’s lineup. Samsung later unveiled the Android tablet – Galaxy Tab S8 which comes with more power, and punch. Find out more about these detail below and follow the links to find their detailed specs and expected price and availability in Nepal.
Galaxy S22 Ultra Reminiscent of the “Note” Phablet
Succeeding to the Galaxy S21 Ultra from last year, it comes with minor bumps in specs. This includes Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, a 108 MP camera sensor in a quad-camera setup, a massive 120 Hz refresh rate.
Inter terms of RAM there is the option between 8 GB and 12 GB mated to 128GB/256GB/512GB/ and the unparallel 1TB internal storage. As for the backup, the Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and 45W fast charge support.
But the most intriguing is the addition of S-Pen support giving off a Note phablet vibe. Samsung says its stylus offers 9 milliseconds faster response over its castaway sibling. For the lover of the Note series smartphones, the Galaxy S22 Ultra would have them covered.
Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus
The event also saw the launch of the more regular Galaxy S22, and S22 Plus devices. Samsung hasn’t offered a major upgrade in terms of design profile and specs for both Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus over its year-old predecessors. However, there is a new Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protecting the front and back of these jewel-like pricey gadgets.
Samsung hasn’t offered a major upgrade in terms of design profile and specs for both Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus over its year-old predecessors. However, there is a new Gorilla Glass Victus Plus protecting the front and back of these jewel-like pricey gadgets.
Both these devices offer similar specs except for a few. S22 stretches 6.1 inches and S22 Plus goes taller at 6.6 inches while both sport the FHD+ 2340×1080 resolution. Both are powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC or Exynos 2200 depending on the region.
The difference is there in the battery capacity. The regular version comes with a less-impressive 3,800 mAh battery and a 25W fast charging support. On the other hand, S22 Plus offers a better spec here. It comes with a 4,500 mAh battery backup and supports 45W fast charging. Besides, it also supports 15W wireless charging.
Both these devices are somewhat similar with minor specs variations. You may even have a hard time choosing between the two but the screen size may help you settle your mind.
