“Salute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev who laid their lives for the country. Tributes to these great patriots,” tweeted Modi, who is on his first visit to Punjab after assuming office to pay homage to the freedom fighters at Hussainiwala where their last rites were performed in 1931.
“On their martyrdom day, I pay my respects to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru who sacrificed their life for the nation,” he said in a statement.
“In Punjab today. Will pay homage to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru at Hussainiwala and will go to Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh,” Modi tweeted.
