JALPAIGURI: A second-year student in Cooch Behar’s Tufanganj alleged that she was raped by a man inside her college premises on November 30. Based on the complaint, the accused was arrested on Saturday evening, the police said.
She told the police that the accused entered the college and took her to an empty room where he committed the crime and then fled the spot. After returning home, the girl was taken to a hospital where she is still under treatment. Her family was initially hesitant about lodging a complaint but finally, approached the police on Friday. College principal admitted to security lapses.
