KOLKATA: CPM, BJP and Congress on Wednesday moved Calcutta HC to draw attention to how the State Election Commission and the police “failed voters when HC had placed trust in them for free-and-fair polls”.
Congress candidate Rabi Saha moved HC against police inaction even after TMC workers allegedly beat him and tried to “undress” him. Left candidates Faiaz Khan, Mousumi Ghosh and Biman Guha Thakurata made a joint petition, seeking an SIT to inquire into the “vote loot” and prayed for deployment of central forces in the civic body polls on 111 seats in Bengal. BJP too has filed a petition. It asked its organisers to gather “footage of booth jamming and intimidation by TMC”.
