Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Lucknow on Friday on a two-day visit to take stock of the BJP’s preparations for the 2022 Assembly elections in the state.
While addressing the launch of ‘My Family-BJP Family’ membership campaign in Lucknow, Shah hailed UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath.
“We have fulfilled 90% of the promises that we made to people,” he said at the launch of the membership campaign on Friday, while speaking about goals met by his party.
Taking a jibe at opposition parties, Shah said, “People who were sitting at home for the last five years, are now coming out thinking their government will be formed. I want Akhilesh Yadav to tell the people of Uttar Pradesh how many days he has stayed abroad. Where was he during Covid and the floods? They only worked for their family.”
“UP is the karma bhoomi (land of action) of Buddha. BJP stands for the poor and downtrodden,” the home minister added.
