Minecraft has announced that Minecraft Dungeons has surpassed 15 million players and will celebrate with an in-game event, the Festival of Frost, taking place between February 8 and 22. Also, the PUMA x Minecraft Sprint Dash DLC for the Minecraft Marketplace is available now.
Minecraft Dungeons is celebrating the milestone of reaching 15 million players with a wintry event — Festival of Frost. Between February 8 and 22, players can participate in the in-game event, featuring new challenges, themed floors in the Tower and familiar seasonal trials from last year’s Chills and Thrills event. Players will also receive the Iceologer Cape if they log in anytime after February 8.
The Festival of Frost comes with performance/stability fixes, some of which are:
“Fixed the game becoming unresponsive when navigating to the Hero Select screen while the game was checking for online permissions”
Fixed a crash that occurred when selecting “Equip” and pressing the spacebar while selecting an artefact on the Tower Reward Select screen
Fixed a crash that could occur after skipping the Microsoft account linking process on PlayStation
Fixed a crash that could occur when logging out of the game on PC
Improved performance when opening the Mission Select screen”
When it comes to gameplay, Festival of Frost adds a new mouse hover sound effect to interactable objects and several gameplay fixes like for the issue with unlocking the reward for Adventure Rank 1 and 2, missing sound effects for Raid Banners, mobs spawning suddenly in front of players with no spawning animation and more.
Released on the Minecraft Marketplace, Bedrock players can check out three unique maps including a city, Arctic, and PUMA-inspired jungle. On the map, players can upgrade equipment to go forever faster, level up, collect trophies against friends and discover surprises along the way, including visiting a virtual PUMA store to check out over 20 new PUMA-inspired skins.
