The I.C.O.N.I.C IDC Insights Awards 2014 were held amidst an impressive gathering of IT leaders in Hyderabad. These awards, spread over two days, recognized outstanding achievement by apex institutions that demonstrated Innovation, Transformation, Customer Experience, Supply Chain Management and Employee Engagement to fulfil wider organizational goals, across seven well-defined industry verticals.
Insights Awards being fêted across various countries had their maiden run in India and received massive response from organizations across India as they nominated projects and wider initiatives that they believed warranted special recognition.

Celebratory spirit continued throughout the event spread over two days. First day of event opened with various insightful and engaging sessions, succeeded by a grand awards night and gala dinner, recognising exceptional IT Implementations across six industry verticals.
The second day opened with motivational session by renowned speaker Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik followed by ICON Award Ceremony where seven coveted ICON Awards were conferred upon an Industry Icon from each industry vertical. The winners’ outstanding achievement has set new touchstone for industry best practices by displaying innovation & creativity, raising the bar.
The nominations received underwent a rigorous evaluation process by a team of IDC analysts and winners were chosen based on the votes of the jury and final validation by the Jury Chair Person Eva Au, Managing Director, IDC Asia/Pacific.
Shalil Gupta, Director Insights and Consulting, IDC says, “CIOs face uncommon challenges, there are only a select few who can exploit this adversity and convert it into opportunity. We aim to recognize such talent through Insights Awards 2014.”
The event was attended by top business leaders, IT Heads from leading organisations across the country apart from IDC’s international and national thought leaders.
Through this platform IDC has taken an initiative to associate itself with a noble cause. KarmMarg, the social impact partner for IDC Insights Awards 2014, runs a home for destitute children, and provides them a safe refuge, a family-like atmosphere and opportunities for education, skill development and employment. IDC and Karm Marg have associated to build prosperous, thriving communities that improve the lives of the under privileged.
Though these awards were non-sponsored, IDC partnered with Wipro, Xerox, Cognizant, Sophos, ITC Infotech, NetApp, FarEye, EMC, Juniper and SanDisk to drive the content led activities on day one of the event.
