Here’s another hint of Samsung ‘killing’ the Galaxy Note series – Rashtra News : Tech News

2021 was the first time in many years that Samsung didn’t launch its premium Note series of smartphones. Earlier this year, during Samsung’s 52nd annual shareholder’s meeting, DJ Koh, co-CEO of Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications division has confirmed that this year it will be difficult for the company to release the new Galaxy Note 21 series. The Note Series was traditionally launched in August but Samsung launched its shiny foldable phones instead in 2021. Koh had then explained that the reason behind this is the shortage of chips and clash with the existing products.
A new report by Phonearena (via GalaxyClub) suggests that the Note series may not see a renewal. The report says that Samsung renewed trademarks of its existing series of smartphones but gave the Note series a miss. All other series — Galaxy M, Galaxy A, Galaxy S — trademarks were renewed but not the Note series.
While it is possible that Samsung may not completely give up on Note, indications are that it is unlikely. In March 2021, Samsung had made it clear that it’s not killing the Note series. Koh had also mentioned that the company is not doing away with the Galaxy Note series and Samsung will come up with the Galaxy Note 22 series.
DJ Koh had then said, “Galaxy Note is an important product category to us that has been continuously loved by consumers for the past 10 years in the global market. The S Pen user experience is an area that Samsung’s mobile business has worked harder on than anybody else. Their launch timing may be different, but we will make sure that we don’t let Galaxy Note consumers down.”
Samsung added S-Pen support to its Galaxy Fold smartphone, which was the standout feature of the Note series. It remains to be seen if it is the end of the road for the Note series or Samsung does bring it back.
