The death toll in the country has further climbed to 4,40,225, with 330 more deaths reported in last 24 hours.
The country added 5,903 more active cases during the last 24 hours. The current active caseload stands at 4,05,681. As many as 36,385 more people were discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 32,100,001.
A total of 17,04,970 samples were tested yesterday to detect Covid-19, according to ICMR. And 67.72 crore vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, under the nationwide vaccination program that commenced on January 16 this year.
India’s Covid-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. India crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore cases on May 4.
