20 June 2016, New Delhi.As part of International Day of Yoga Initiative, the Brahmakumaris Organization held the third public event titled ‘Conference on Yoga for Universal Peace’ at Siri Fort Auditorium here this evening.
Mr. P.J.Kurien, Dy.Chairman, Rajya Sabha addressing the conference as Chief Guest, said that a healthy, enlightened and empowered citizen is foundation of a peaceful, prosperous and developed nation. He said that without peace of mind no development can take place at individual, social, national or global level.
For health, harmony, peace and progress in people’s life, society and in the world, practice and promotion of Rajyoga Meditation in all spheres and walks of life are essential. The celebration of World Yoga Day is fitting tribute to this and the Brahmakumaris are already doing this observing every third Sunday of the month as World Peace and Meditation Day across the globe for last several decades, he said.
Motivational Speaker, Brahmakumari Shivani talking about individual and world peace said that Yoga is a science as well as an art of healthy thinking and living. Yoga essentially refers to Rajyoga which means the highest intellectual communion of inner self with the Supreme Soul for restoring peace, balance, health, harmony and happiness in self, society and nature.
She said that the practice of Rajyoga ensures freedom from inner conflicts, confusions and sufferings and it enhances self esteem and respect for others and nature outside thereby improving quality and standard of life and society on earth.
She conducted mass Rajyoga Meditation to the public by giving them positive thoughts for visualisation and led them to experience deep inner peace and power.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were Mr. Rajeev Chandran, National Information Officer, United Nations Information Center in India; Rajyogi B.K.Brijmohan, Chief Spokesman of Brahmakumaris and Rajyogini B.K.Asha, the Chief Program Coordinator.
