A Google representative has confirmed on Reddit that the Google Clock not triggering the alarm has been fixed and the users should not face any such issue going forward.
To remind, Android smartphone users started reporting that the Google Clock app alarm does not go off at the set time. Later it was discovered that the issue is due to using Spotify as the alarm ringtone.
