CBSE ICSE Term I Board Exam News: The Supreme Court today strongly disapproved the holding of CBSE ICSE Term I Board Exam in hybrid mode at “last-minute” as against the offline mode even as the board exams are underway in response to a petition filed by the students belong to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) boards who had moved the apex court seeking to conduct of CBSE ICSE Term I Examination in both, online as well as offline mode.
Taking a strong objection, the Supreme Court disapproved the changes sought as the “last-minute” business and refused to intervene and disturb the examination process underway terming it as inappropriate.
“This eleventh-hour changing and giving hope to the students, we discourage this,” a division bench of Supreme Court comprises of Justices A M Khanwilkar and C T Ravikumar observed.
“Let us be very practical about it. The examinations have already started. How can it be made online now,” the bench further observed while disposing of the plea maintaining that “Suffice is to observe that at such belated stage, it is not possible to intervene in the exercise of writ jurisdiction under Article 32 of the Constitution of India,” NDTV reported.
In his submission before the Supreme Court, solicitor general Tushar Mehta said that all precautionary measures have been taken for conducting the CBSE ICSE Term I Board Exam in offline mode in addition to increasing the number of examination centres have from the existing 6,500 to 15,000.
