Apple AirPods 3rd generation launched with new design, better battery life – Rashtra News
Apple has finally taken the wraps off the much-awaited 3rd generation AirPods. The new TWS earbuds are available for order in India at Rs 18,500. The 2nd generation AirPods will now be available at a new price of Rs 12,900 and the AirPods Pro now comes with MagSafe charging case for the same price of Rs 24,900.
Apple Airpods 3rd generation: Design
The new Apple AirPods look similar to the currently sold AirPods Pro but without the silicon tips. They come with shorter stems and a redesigned charging case. It also features the same intuitive force sensor as seen on the Pro model for media control. They are resistant to both sweat and water, with an IPX4 rating for both the earbuds and the charging case.
Apple AirPods 3rd generation: Audio
The new AirPods feature Adaptive EQ that tunes sound in real time based on how AirPods fit in the user’s ear. An inward-facing microphone monitors for sound, and then Adaptive EQ tunes the low and mid frequencies to account for what may be lost due to variances in fit. The earbuds also get a custom driver and a high dynamic range amplifier that together are claimed to produce powerful bass with crisp, clean high frequencies.
Apple AirPods 3rd generation: Processor
Powered by the H1 chip, the new AirPods come with Spatial Audio support. The company claims that the earbuds use computational audio to deliver sound with Adaptive EQ and it allows users to enjoy spatial audio featuring Dolby Atmos in Apple Music, movies, and tv shows, along with dynamic head tracking, across Apple devices.
Apple AirPods 3rd generation: Microphone
The microphone is covered by an acoustic mesh to help reduce the sound of wind, so the speaker’s voice comes across distinctly on calls. AirPods also feature AAC-ELD, a superior speech codec that offers full HD voice quality, providing clear, natural communication for FaceTime calls.
Apple AirPods 3rd generation: Battery
In terms of battery, the AirPods are claimed to have a playback time of up to 6 hours without the charging case and up to 30 hours of total listening time with the charging case. The company claims that just five minutes of charging provides about an hour of battery life.
