The protest agitation was held at 5.00 p.m. today at National Sports Club of India (NSCI), Worli, Mumbai. On this occasion, slogans were raised spontaneously – ‘Shame on Filmfare organisers for nominating Pakistani artistes for awards’, ‘Boycott Pakistani artistes’, ‘Shame on Filmfare organisers keeping an eye on box-office collections’ and ‘Pakistan Murdabad’.
Art is supreme, but, the national interest comes first. Do they feel that the art displayed by the artistes, who support the tendencies assaulting the nation is worth watching ? When the memories of martyrdom of soldiers dying everyday in Kashmir are still fresh, the Filmfare Award organisers feel compassion about Pakistani artistes. When the public in Bharat strongly feel that a war should be declared with Pakistan, the organisers select Pakistani artistes for Filmfare Awards. This is like rubbing salt on wounds of the Bharatiya citizens. To nominate Pakistani artistes means justification of inhuman killings of Bharatiya solders, said Mr. Arvind Pansare), Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti on this occasion.
In this agitation, Hindu Govansh Raksha Samiti, Hindu Rashtra Sena, Bajrang Dal, Sanatan Sanstha, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and other patriotic organisation participated in the agitation.
