NeW DELHI: Debutants Gujarat Lions would look to build on their winning run and maintain their all-win record when they take on Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday.
The Suresh Raina-led side is having a dream run in this Indian Premier League edition. Not only have Gujarat emerged victorious in three successive games, they have won all their matches convincingly riding on superb starts from their openers and crucial breakthroughs provided by their bowlers. This will be the second match for Gujarat at home. They started their IPL campaign with a victory against Kings XI Punjab at Mohali, defeated Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Rising Pune Supergiants at home and then breached the Wankhede fortress to beat defending champions Mumbai Indians.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be on a high after a sound thrashing they inflicted upon defending champions Mumbai Indians in their last match in Hyderabad. Having suffered defeats against Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders, captain David Warner took it upon himself to lead from the front with an unbeaten 59-ball 90 to put Hyderabad’s campaign back on track which has been hit by injuries to key players like Yuvraj Singh and Kane Williamson.
